Imho the convention is to refer to it as 16x, because there is a physical 4x type. Yeah the #3 is physically a 16x slot and electrically 4x, chipset connected. Anyway, my game specific benchmarks are good so may just let this one go. If the MB is operating correctly, I am back to ground zero in terms of why I get a negative OC scanner result with Afterburner and relatively low benchmark scores with 3D mark. It is confusing, after talking with MSI (again) they think this might be a MB issue but I may have been reporting erroneous information.
